About Ashby
Ashby practices in the General Litigation group in the Atlanta office. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University in 2000, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received her J.D., with honors, from Emory University School of Law in 2003. Ashby has co-authored the Eleventh Circuit survey article on Federal Trial Practice and Procedure for Mercer Law Review every year from 2005 through 2009. Ashby was named as a “Rising Star” in the Georgia Edition of Super Lawyers Magazine for 2010.
While in law school, Ashby was Notes and Comments Editor for the Emory International Law Review, President of the Legal Association for Women Students, a member of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity and President of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society. She was the recipient of the James H. and Frances Wilson Scholarship, the Meyer S. Tenenbaum Scholarship and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers’ Outstanding Law Student Award.
Outside of the office Ashby serves on the Advisory Board of Atlanta Legal Aid. In 2008, Ashby founded Burr & Forman’s pro bono initiative with Atlanta Legal Aid’s Health Law Partnership (HeLP), an interdisciplinary community collaboration between Atlanta Legal Aid, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and Georgia State University College of Law. HeLP’s mission statement is “Assisting Children and Their Families With Basic Civil Legal Problems.” Volunteer attorneys at Burr work with HeLP to assist families with ill and/or disabled children in obtaining guardianships over minors and incapacitated adults.
