About Austin
Austin practices in the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group, focusing on Financial Services Litigation. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and his B.A., summa cum laude, in Economics and Political Science from Auburn University.
What is your favorite thing about the law?
The ability of the law to apply to new and unique fact patterns requires new examination of old laws.
What was your first job?
I sold Dippin’ Dots at the Summit.
What are your hobbies?
Playing basketball and watching college sports.
What advice would you give to a young student in law school?
Do whatever you can to avoid the stress that most law students tend to put themselves through. Enjoy listening to what your professors and peers have to say, and make great friends.
What is your favorite lawyer joke?

How do you define a “good day?”
A good day is one where I achieve all of the goals I have set and ends with a nice meal with my wife.
How do you spend your weekend?
During the fall, Saturdays include a little early morning yard work followed by a heavy dose of college football. I also enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife and dog.
