About Callie
Callie practices in the firm’s general corporate and real estate group. Her practice regularly involves advising clients on a broad spectrum of corporate issues, including business organization and development, mergers and acquisitions, real estate (with an emphasis on leasing work) and day to day operational matters. As part of her corporate practice, she also works closely with renewable energy companies, advising them in connection with acquisitions and project development.
She received her B.A. in History from the University of Virginia in 2000. Callie obtained her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law in May 2003. During law school, she was Articles Editor of the Alabama Law Review and a member of the Student Farrah Law Society, the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society, and Co-Chair for the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board. Callie was also a Hugo Black Scholar, an Honor Court Associate Justice, a recipient of the Dean M. Leigh Harrison Award, and a member of Order of the Coif. She also serves as a member of the firm’s Recruiting Committee.
What community projects are you involved in?
I am a member of the Junior League of Birmingham, serve on the Junior Board for Glenwood, Inc., and I am a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where I volunteer with the youth.
What was your first job? If you don’t count babysitting, my first job was as a lifeguard at Blossomwood Pool in Huntsville.
What are your hobbies? I enjoy running (have completed several half-marathons), traveling, music and walking (or doing anything outside) with my dog Bess.
What advice would you give to a young student in law school? Work hard, but also maintain a good balance in your life, because it makes transitioning into work that much easier.
