About Jim
Jim practices in the firm’s corporate law section focusing on commercial finance and banking, condominium law, environmental and land use law, and mortgage and real estate law. In addition, LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell has awarded him the status of AV Preeminent Rated Lawyer.
Jim is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is a former member of the Winter Park Hospital Institutional Review Board, and also served as Chairman of the BYU Alumni Association, Orlando, Florida Chapter. Jim is a former Bishop of the Maitland Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He currently serves as President of the Orlando, Florida Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, acting as ecclesiastical leader of over 4,000 church members.
Jim received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Brigham Young University in 1982 and 1985 respectively. He is also the co-author of “Basic Real Estate Law in Florida”, Section Entitled, Initial Considerations in a Real Estate Transaction, legal education materials, National Business Institute, Inc. 1988.
Jim served a two-year mission for his church in France & Belgium. He also taught French at Brigham Young University. Jim can speak French fluently.
Jim is an AV Martindale-Hubbell rated attorney, and he is listed as one of The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Real Estate Law.
