About Kevin
Kevin practices with and serves as head of the firm’s Insurance Group. His experience concentrates on insurance regulatory law, with particular emphasis on captives, risk retention groups, self-insurance funds, and other alternative insurance vehicles. Kevin also practices entertainment law and represents recording artists, publishers, songwriters, and music-related companies in connection with all types of music industry agreements and transactions. Kevin is admitted to practice in Tennessee (1999), Georgia (1990) and New York (1986). He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Nashville Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia.
Kevin helped to rewrite the captive insurance law in Tennessee in 2011, and he currently serves as Chairman and President of the Tennessee Captive Insurance Association, Inc. (TCIA). He is listed in Best Lawyers in America and has been recognized numerous times as one of the Nashville Business Journal ‘s “Best of the Bar,” both for his work in Insurance Regulation. Kevin also was recently listed again in the “In Charge” edition of Music Row magazine as a “Decision Maker” in the music industry. He is a the past Chair of the Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee, and he serves on numerous charitable Boards in Nashville.

Kevin earned his J.D. in 1985 from Vanderbilt University where he was a Patrick Wilson Scholar and served on the editorial board of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. He received his A.B. in 1982 from Princeton University, where he served as President of the Student Body from 1981-1982.

Racquetball, hockey, and songwriting
What advice would you give to a young student in law school?
Work hard, make sure you love it!
How do you define a “good day?”
Getting enough done that I can see my desk again.
How do you spend your weekend?
Being with my kids and watching/playing sports.
