About Rhett

Rhett is a member of the firm’s General Commercial Litigation practice group and is licensed to practice in Alabama state court and all three federal district courts in Alabama. While his practice focuses primarily on the representation of corporate clients in various litigation matters, Rhett also represents governmental clients in cases involving alleged constitutional violations by governmental employees and recently obtained a directed verdict for a municipal defendant in a case involving the alleged use of excessive force by a municipal correctional officer. In addition, Rhett is a member of the firm’s ESI Discovery and Data Management Group and has experience handling requests for the production of electronic evidence, including defining, locating, and producing discoverable electronic information, retaining third-party ESI vendors, and administering the production of electronic documents.

Rhett, in addition to serving on the firm’s Associate and Recruiting committees, also currently serves as an elected member of the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association and as a member of the board of the Birmingham Volunteer Lawyers Program. He also is a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyer’s Association and the Defense Research Institute. In 2012, Rhett was named a “Rising Star” of the Birmingham Bar Association by b-metro magazine.
