About Rick
Rick practices in the Business section and concentrates in the areas of real estate finance, development, investment, joint ventures and economic and industrial development. He devotes a significant portion of his practice to both public and private organizations involved in the development, construction and financing of commercial properties, as well as the sale and acquisition of all types of real estate developments. Rick also represents international manufacturing companies in various aspects of site selection and incentive negotiation. He was the Atlanta office partner in charge of the firm’s representation of Daimler Chrysler, Ford Motor Company, Honda Precision Parts of Georgia, LLC (affiliate of American Honda Motor Co.) and Michigan Automotive Compressor Inc. (an affiliate of Toyoda Industries) during their Georgia site selection and negotiation processes.
Rick is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, the Georgia Economic Developers Association, the Urban Land Institute, the National Multi Housing Council, the Atlanta Apartment Association, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association. He serves in the Real Property Section and the Corporate and Banking Section of the State Bar of Georgia. In addition, Rick was named to The Best Lawyers in America listing in the area of economic development.
Rick received his B.S. in 1966 from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and his J.D. in 1970 from Cleveland State University, where he was a member of the Cleveland State University Law Review. He was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1970 and the Georgia Bar in 1972.
