About Bill
Bill is a member of the firm’s Construction Law practice group. He has represented general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and owners in many diverse areas of construction law and dispute resolution for more than 30 years in both the private and public sectors.
Bill is a member of the American Bar Association’s Forum on the Construction Industry and the Insurance and Surety Law Section. He is also a member of the Birmingham Bar Association and the Alabama State Bar. Bill is an active member of the Alabama Surety Association, South Central Chapter of the Design-Build Institute of America (Birmingham Section), Associated General Contractors, Associated Builders & Contractors of Alabama, the American Arbitration Association, the Construction Financial Management Association and was selected for the Birmingham Business Journal’s “Who’s Who in Construction.” Also, he was voted by members of the Birmingham Bar Association as the best construction lawyer in firms with over 100 lawyers, and has been recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America since 2005.
Some of his publications and presentations include “Current Issues in Construction Law” (The Institute for Continuing Education); “Alabama Construction Law: What Do You Do When…?” (National Business Institute, Inc.); and “Alabama Lien Law,” (Lorman Education Services); and “Legal Aspects of Design/Build Contracting” (South Central Chapter of Design-Build Institute of America).
While in law school, Bill was a member of Phi Alpha Delta, was honored as Curia Honoris and served as Executive Editor of the Cumberland Law Review.
