Q&A with former Summer Associates
Nancy Fouad
Q: Why did you choose Burr’s summer program?
A: When I visited Burr & Forman for my interview, I knew that it was the place for me. I felt comfortable with the attorneys I met who were friendly and genuine, and I was excited to have the opportunity to work at such a successful and reputable firm.
Q: What made the experience good for you?
A: I had a great summer experience at Burr & Forman. During the summer, I was able to begin developing relationships with attorneys I worked with and get to know a number of attorneys outside of the work setting. I had always heard that Burr & Forman was one of the top firms in the Southeast, and my summer experience confirmed this. The projects I was given and the support and guidance I received from the attorneys I worked with assured me that Burr was not only interested in getting the best work done, but also building my career.
Q: What advice would you give to a law student looking for a summer associate position?
A: Work hard and be proactive. Look for a firm that best suits you.

Q: What made you choose Burr & Forman’s summer program?
A: Most associates at Burr & Forman clerked for the firm during the summer program. I wanted to work at Burr, so the summer program gave me the best opportunity to receive a job offer.
Q: What made the experience good for you?
A: I enjoyed the mix of legal work and social activities. It gives the clerks some idea of what young associates do on a daily basis, while at the same time allowing them to meet and get to know the Burr attorneys.
Q: What advice would you give to a law student looking for a summer associate position?
A: First and foremost, get good grades. Second, be yourself during the interview process, and as much as possible, treat the interviews as conversations rather than question and answer sessions.
